Volodymyr “Velvel” Lozynskyy – General Director,

Georgian Manganese

Mr. Lozynskyy joined Georgian Manganese in May 2012 as the company’s General Director. In his current role, he is responsible for overseeing all operational activities and strategic initiatives. Mr. Lozynskyy works directly with Georgian American Alloys, Georgian Manganese’s parent company, to ensure operational excellence through the organization. Prior to joining Georgian Manganese, he spent two years refining his managerial skills at North America-based Warren Steel Holdings. Mr. Lozynskyy holds degrees from Kyiv State University and O.S. Popov Odessa National Academy of Telecommunications.

 

 

Akaki Gurjidze – General Director,

Chiatura Manganese Mine

Since 1998, Mr. Gurjidze has been deeply involved with the numerous facilities located at the Chiatura Manganese Mine. After earning his doctorate degree from Georgian Technical University, where his studies focused on the scientific reliability of underground mechanical fasteners, Mr. Gurjidze began his career at the mine with ChaturManganum JSC. After serving as the Deputy General Director overseeing human resources and finance/commerce, he was appointed ChaturManganum’s General Director in 2003. He served in this role until 2006, at which point he transitioned to serve as General Director for the new owner and operator of Chiatura Manganese Mine, Georgian Manganese.

 

 

Zaza Uflishashvili – General Director,

Vartsikhe 2005

Mr. Uflishashvili serves as Vartsikhe 2005’s General Director. In this role he manages and oversees all operational aspects of four hydropower plants. Prior to joining the company in 2005, Mr. Uflishashvili served as Governor of Georgia’s Marneuli region and as Vice-Governor of the country’s Mtskheta-Mtianeti region. This unique background provides him with an intimate knowledge of the local economic landscape and the broader community. In addition to his time in political office, Mr. Uflishashvili brings extensive managerial experience from his previous work at Lufthansa. Mr. Uflishashvili earned a doctorate in mechanical engineering from Georgian Technical University.
