Mordechai Korf – Chief Executive Officer,

Georgian American Alloys, Inc.

 

Mordechai “Motti” Korf was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Georgian American Alloys in 2012. Mr. Korf is a Co-Founder of Optima International, a private investment firm with holdings in several businesses located throughout the United States and Eastern Europe. Mr. Korf has established several investment vehicles to pursue opportunities in real estate, steel manufacturing, telecommunications, and oil and gas. Mr. Korf is CEO of the real estate company, Optima Ventures, LLC and actively serves on the board of directors and as CEO for Optima Specialty Steel, Inc. and Georgian American Alloys.

 

 

 

Barry C. Nuss – Chief Financial Officer,

Georgian American Alloys, Inc.

Mr. Nuss was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Georgian American Alloys in 2012. He possesses extensive financial and managerial expertise gained through a series of important finance positions held over his more than 30-year career. Prior to joining Georgian American Alloys, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Optima Industrial Management, LLC from January 2011, Cosmetic Essence, Inc. from April 2009 to January 2010 and RathGibson, Inc. from April 2006 to January 2009. Mr. Nuss also served in executive roles at Metallurg, Inc., Shieldalloy Metallurgical Corporation (a subsidiary of Metallurg, Inc.) and Cabot Mineral Resources. He began his career in finance in 1976 as an auditor at Deloitte, Haskins & Sells (now Deloitte & Touche LLP). Mr. Nuss holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Farleigh Dickinson University and is a Certified Public Accountant. 

 

Jeffrey H. (Hayes) Kern – Chief Technological Officer,

Georgian American Alloys, Inc. 

 

Mr. Kern was appointed Chief Technological Officer of Georgian American Alloys in March, 2012. Mr. Kern has over 20 years of experience in the industrial materials space, and has a proven track record in capital project planning and advanced process development. Prior to joining Georgian American Alloys, Mr. Kern enjoyed a nineteen year tenure with Globe Metallurgical, where his responsibilities included operations management, comprehensive due diligence and process improvement.  Mr. Kern holds a bachelor’s degree from Mount Union College and an MBA from Regis University. 

 

 

Robert Powell – Chief Legal Officer,

Georgian American Alloys, Inc.

Robert Powell was appointed Chief Legal Officer of Georgian American Alloys, Inc. upon its formation in February 2012.  Mr. Powell has extensive experience representing manufacturing companies throughout his 14-year legal career.  Between January 2008 and February 2012, Mr. Powell served as General Counsel for affiliated entities in the steel, ferroalloy and industrial tire industries including Warren Steel Holdings, LLC, Steel Rolling Holdings, Inc., Eurotire, Inc., Optima Specialty Steel, Inc.’s wholly-owned subsidiaries Niagara LaSalle Corporation and Michigan Seamless Tube, LLC, CC Metals and Alloys, LLC, Felman Production, LLC, and Felman Trading, Inc.  Mr. Powell previously served as General Counsel to Black & Decker’s Automotive and Electronics Division and its predecessor company, Vector Products, Inc. from 2003 to 2007. Prior to moving in-house, he was an attorney with Steel Hector & Davis, LLP in Miami. Mr. Powell holds a B.A from Hampshire College and a J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
